Travis Head said the he finds T20 cricket the hardest as there is always pressure of expectations. The left-handed batter has had the Midas touch in T20s over the last 12 months or say, scoring runs at will whether it’s international or domestic cricket. Back in April, Head hammered the fourth-fastest hundred in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 off 39 balls while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
He also played some whirlwind knocks for Australia in the matches against Scotland and England. The southpaw said that in T20 cricket, batters have to stay on their toes and keep scoring at a high strike-rate. Head gave his views on the shortest format before Australia’s second ODI against England at Headingley in Leeds.
“I find T20s the hardest because there’s pressure to score; there are expectations, every time you go out, you have got to strike at 130, 140 and 150,” Head told Sky Sports before the second T20I.
Head, who made his debut for Australia back in 2016, also said that he finds Test cricket the easiest as he gets time to mould his game as per the demands of the situation. Last year, Head also won the Player of the Match award in the final of the 2021-23 WTC against India.
“I find Test cricket, somewhat, the easiest because if I am not feeling great, I can go as slow as I want and if I am feeling great, I can go as fast as I want. There are no barriers to what you can do. From the playing side of things, I enjoy Test cricket the most. It’s toughest in terms of technique, conditions and other things, but expectations are something that is always there in white-ball cricket.
Head has also been in excellent form in ODIs, after he racked up 154 runs in the opener against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
