A Louisville neighborhood is gaining national recognition as an “up and coming” area.
Butchertown, located just east of downtown, is one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods becoming one of the “hippest areas” in town, according to Travel Mag.
The publication examined specific criteria, including the number of boutiques, LGBTQ+ inclusive spaces, restaurants and bars, to determine 16 “up and coming” neighborhoods across the United States.
Louisville’s Butchertown neighborhood is home to locations including Butchertown Brewing, TEN20 Craft Brewery, Copper & Kings, Pizza Lupo and Hard Times Collective. Other notable spots are Louisville’s Waterfront Park on the Ohio River and Lynn Family Stadium, the city’s pro soccer venue.
“No matter what brings you to Butchertown, it’s easy to recognize why this enclave is among Louisville’s premier spots to live, work, and play,” the publication stated.
Other neighborhoods making the list were Austin’s Govalle neighborhood, Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood and Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood.
