According to a new study by Squaremouth.com 75% of participants are worried about protecting their upcoming trip costs this fall season due to travel disruptions such as airline delays and natural disasters.

The travel insurance market place surveyed over 1,600 customers regarding their fall travel plans to determine the current trends among travelers buying travel insurance.

The data revealed three major concerns for travelers:

• 67% worried becoming sick or injured while traveling
• 16% worried about having to cancel a trip prior to departure
• 10% worried about airport delays, missing a connecting flight or losing their luggage

The travel insurance company reccomends these three tips for travelers.

1. Emergency Medical Coverage: Traveler should for find a plan with at least $50,000 in Emergency Medical coverage and at least $100,000 in Medical Evacuation coverage. More coverage may be necessary if you are traveling to a remote destination or have an action-packed itinerary. 
2. Trip Cancellation Coverage: This policy will include unforeseen medical emergencies for yourself or a loved one and inclement weather that occur prior to your departure date. This benefit can reimburse up to 100% of your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs if you are forced to cancel your trip due to unforeseen reasons.
3. Travel Delay Coverage: The plan will refund meals and hotels if your flight is delayed for at least 3-12 hours, and may even cover the additional costs paid to catch up to your destination.
