Auburn football made a major splash in the transfer portal on Monday, signing former Georgia Tech wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr.
Singleton is the second-ranked player in the transfer portal according to On3 and No. 3 overall in 247Sports’ rankings. Both rankings have him as the No. 1 wide receiver in the transfer portal.
Auburn had to beat out the likes of Ole Miss, LSU, Miami and Texas to land Singleton, but he was trending toward Auburn early on after making it his first visit.
He caught 104 passes for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns during his two seasons with the Yellow Jackets, leading the team in receiving yards in each of the last two seasons. In the 2024 campaign, Singleton finished the year with 56 receptions for 754 yards and three touchdowns.
His addition to the receiver room helps fill a gap left by top receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who is out of college eligibility following the 2024 season. Lambert-Smith was another transfer to Auburn, leading the team in receiving yards (981) and receiving touchdowns (8).
With Singleton joining Horatio Fields as Auburn’s second wide receiver transfer, the Tigers have a pair of experienced Power Four receivers to complement the young core of Cam Coleman, Malcolm Simmons, Perry Thompson and Bryce Cain.
Singleton will have two years of eligibility left when he arrives on the plains.
