Cold temperature readings were of no help. After a Sunday night low around 30 degrees with wind-chill values as low as 20-25, the NWS said a high of 35 on Monday would translate to feeling like 15-25 with the blustery conditions.
The wind chill will drop to 5-15 with an air temperature of 18 on Monday night.
Simulcasting will not be offered at Aqueduct on Monday, and the facility will be closed to the public. Live racing is scheduled to resume on Friday with a first post of 1:10 p.m. EST.
Horsemen were advised training will proceed Monday, but horses will not be allowed to breeze. There also will be no gate schooling Monday.
