On Sunday at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, top-50 bubble boy Tom Kim was making quite a run, going four under over his first 15 holes without making a bogey. A spot in next week’s BMW Championship was well within his reach.

Kim then promptly imploded, finishing bogey, double bogey, double bogey, AKA the dreaded 6-6-6. But it was back at the 12th hole where his frustrations began to boil over, Kim missing a six-footer for birdie and settling for a tap-in par. Before the tap-in, though, the 22-year-old slammed down a spot on the green that he felt affected his birdie effort. Kim wound up making a dent in the green and, apparently, walked off without repairing the dent:

The video cuts off early, but it does appear that Kim scoops his ball out of the hole and walks off, which is a very tough look. 

Golf Twitter, as expected, did not hold back:

According to a few eagle-eyed observers, Kim’s caddie, Paul Tesori, wound up fixing the indent. Not the best optics, regardless.  

Kim’s late-round troubles are looking to be very costly, too.
