Borgonzi has been with the Chiefs since 2009, ascending to assistant GM in 2021. Prior to that promotion, Borgonzi served as Kansas City’s director of football operations from 2018-2020 and director of player personnel in 2017.
Borgonzi joined the organization as a college scouting administrator under former Chiefs GM Scott Pioli and has remained in Kansas City even after the departures of Pioli and former Chiefs GM John Dorsey. He’s worked in tandem with current GM Brett Veach since 2013 and under Veach since the Chiefs replaced Dorsey with Veach in 2017.
Borgonzi has been part of a Chiefs front office that has constructed three Super Bowl-winning rosters, securing their first Lombardi Trophy in the 2019 season after the Chiefs completed a wild comeback to take down the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. Since then, Kansas City has reached three additional Super Bowls (LV, LVII, LVIII), winning the title in each of their last two appearances.
Kansas City secured the AFC’s top seed in the 2024 season with a 15-2 record and will play its first playoff game Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium against the Houston Texans. Borgonzi, meanwhile, will prepare to take over a Titans franchise that fired GM Ran Carthon earlier in January after two seasons.
