Several local and state entities are offering help during National Problem Gambling Awareness Month.
Michelle Barnhart with The Open Door of Indiana said they offer several resources for mental health and substance abuse disorders, but they also do assessments for gambling addictions.
On the statewide level, officials with the Pennsylvania Lottery say help is available with the state’s gambling help hotline 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537). There’s also the opportunity to connect with the Council on Compulsive Gambling of Pennsylvania, Inc., which offers warning signs, counseling services, and self-help meetings.
