Tennessee Titans +8.5 @ Miami Dolphins: 6:30 PM CT on ESPN

There’s been a big line move in this game, flipping the favorite to Miami after they announced that Snoop Huntley would be starting at quarterback. That would make sense considering how bad Skylar Thompson was last week, but since nothing in the NFL makes any sense, I’m going to fade the steam here and boost my margin on the Titans to a big number. Quarterback change or not, it’s a big ask for Miami to win by multiple possessions against a quality defense, especially after so many games have been decided by one score this season.

Seattle Seahawks +10 @ Detroit Lions: 7:15 PM CT on ABC

The Seahawks might just be for real, with a high-octane offense and a defense that’s figuring out Mike Macdonald’s new system. But given how good the Lions have been at covering numbers with Jared Goff, especially at home or indoors in general, I’m much more comfortable backing Seattle at this bigger number. And while the Lions might have covered in their two games against NFC West opponents so far, one was an OT miracle and the other was just a 7-point win. It’s a tall task to win by double digits, especially with Detroit having injury issues along the o-line and in the secondary, so I’ll back Seattle to make this a game.
