But the 22-year-old still suffered from injury in 2024 and played just 37 matches across the year.

Despite her lack of matchplay and challenges staying fit, Emma Raducanu still managed to finish the season inside the top 60, but Tim Henman believes there is so much more that the former British number one can achieve.

Not only has Raducanu suffered some injuries in 2024, but she also faced criticism for not playing more matches when she had the opportunity. For example, Raducanu chose not to enter the French Open qualifiers.

Furthermore, Raducanu chose not to play at the Paris Olympics in addition to the Canadian and Cincinnati WTA 1000 events before the US Open.

During an interview with Sky Sports, Henman thinks Raducanu can challenge the best players for the biggest titles on a more consistent basis if she stays fit and plays more matches.

“I think one of her challenges has been staying injury free, like with Jack there were a few injuries in 2024,” she said. “I think for Raducanu when you look at the volume of tennis that she played, when she was on the court she played very, very well and finished around 60 in the world.

“If she can increase that volume and play more of the bigger tournaments I see absolutely no doubt in her ranking improving and competing in the biggest and best titles.”

In addition to Raducanu, Henman also spoke about Katie Boulter, the British number one.

The 28-year-old reached a new level in 2024 and played 51 matches, the most she has ever played in a season. She won 37 of those contests and claimed two titles in Nottingham and San Diego.

She finished the season ranked number 24 in the world and Henman believes Boulter will be aiming to break into the top 20 in 2025.

“Top 20 I think. She has had a fantastic year. She has built up that physical resilience to be able to compete more,” Henman added.

“She played a full schedule and had some great results. I still think she can play better and bring a little more consistency to her game. I think top 20 is the obvious target for her.”
