The world’s best golfers, including 15 major champion Tiger Woods, hit the course at the 2024 British Open Championship to compete in the season’s final major tournament at the Royal Troon Golf Club.
After a 20-year hiatus, Tiger Woods is set to make a triumphant return to the famed location for the first time since the 2004 Open when he tied for ninth place. The British Open returned to Scotland in 2016, but Woods was unable to participate due to his recovery from a back injury.
Woods has competed in every major of 2024, the first time he has done so since suffering leg injuries in a car accident in 2021. However, his performance has been unpredictable, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
Woods had to withdraw from the Genesis Invitational in February after one round due to illness. He then made a comeback and participated in the Masters, where he made history by setting the record for the most consecutive cuts made at 24, but finished the tournament in 60th place. Woods then went on to miss the cuts at the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open.
