MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WMBF) – The field for the 2025 Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship has been unveiled and a big name for golf is on the list.
Charlie Woods, son of 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, will join 31 other young golfers in the 54-hole tournament at TPC Myrtle Beach.
The rising young star joins other juniors with famous fathers including John Daly Jr. and Tristan Gretzky who have played in the event.
The field is stacked with young talent including the 6th-ranked American junior Tyler Watts who finished third at the DJ World Junior last year.
North Carolina commit and 8th-ranked junior Asher Vargas is also among the top young talent in the field.
As for Grand Strand talent, on the girls’ side, 13th-ranked Madison Messimer will attempt to become the first Myrtle Beach resident to win the tournament.
This year marks the 10th tournament, and Dustin Johnson, who played for Coastal Carolina, continues to commit to helping junior golfers grow.
The tournament is set for Feb. 28 through Mar. 2 at TPC Myrtle Beach.
