Five Breeders’ Cup hopefuls were among the eight graded-stakes winners with published works Thursday.
Next, who is on a seven-race win streak, breezed five furlongs in 1:01.0 on the synthetic surface at Turfway Park. His first preference for the Breeders’ Cup is the Classic, which would see him cut back in distance. His second preference is the Turf, which is 1 1/2 miles but would be his first start on grass since 2022.
Others pointed to the Breeders’ Cup who worked Thursday are Forbidden Kingdom, Big Invasion, Full Count Felicia and Nooni.

Forbidden Kingdom (American Pharoah), a three-time Grade 2 winner (2023 Joe Hernandez, 2022 San Felipe, 2022 San Vicente), worked two furlongs in 24.2 seconds at Santa Anita on Thursday morning. It was the only work at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed seventh in the Kona Gold going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Santa Anita on April 27 for trainer Richard Mandella.
Master Piece (Mastercraftsman), a three-time Grade 2 winner (2024 Fort Marcy, 2023 Red Smith, 2022 Eddie Read), worked four furlongs in 51.8 seconds at Belmont Park on Thursday morning. It was the 53rd fastest of 61 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed third in the John Henry Turf Championship (G2) going 1 1/4 miles on the turf at Santa Anita on Sept. 28 for trainer Rick Dutrow.
Next (Not This Time), a three-time Grade 2 winner (2024 Brooklyn, 2023 Brooklyn, 2022 Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance), worked five furlongs in 1:01.0 at Turfway Park on Thursday morning. It was the second fastest of six works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going five furlongs at Turfway Park. In his last start he won the Greenwood Cup (G3) going 1 1/2 miles on the main track at Parx Racing on Sept. 21 for trainer Doug Cowans.
One Timer (Trappe Shot), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Franklin-Simpson), worked four furlongs in 50.8 seconds at Fair Grounds on Thursday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 14 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fifth in the Woodford (G2) going 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 5 for trainer Larry Rivelli.
Big Invasion (Declaration of War), a Grade 3 winner (2022 Quick Call), worked four furlongs in 50.8 seconds at Belmont Park on Thursday morning. It was the 40th fastest of 61 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed fourth in the California Crown Eddie D (G2) going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Santa Anita on Sept. 28 for trainer Christophe Clement.
Full Count Felicia (War Front), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Suwannee River), worked five furlongs in 57.0 seconds at Woodbine on Thursday morning. It was the fastest of 10 works at the distance. Her previous work was 11 days ago going five furlongs at Woodbine. In her last start she won the E. P. Taylor (G1) going 1 1/4 miles on the turf at Woodbine on Sept. 14 for trainer Kevin Attard.
Money Supply (Practical Joke), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Mineshaft), worked four furlongs in 49.2 seconds at Churchill Downs on Thursday morning. It was the 23rd fastest of 38 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed ninth in a handicap going one mile on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 1 for trainer Joe Sharp.
Nooni (Win Win Win), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Sorrento), worked five furlongs in 59.2 seconds at Santa Anita on Thursday morning. It was the fastest of 11 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In her last start she placed second in the Oak Leaf (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on Oct. 5 for trainer Bob Baffert.
