NFL Week 2 picks, predictions and best bets
USA TODAY Sports’ Lorenzo Reyes is back with his NFL best bets for week 2 games of the NFL season.
Week 2 of the NFL season kicks off with Thursday Night Football on Prime Video with a divisional tilt between two playoff teams from last season: the Buffalo Bills (1-0) and Miami Dolphins (1-0).
Buffalo started off its 2024 campaign with a 34-28 win over the Arizona Cardinals at home. Quarterback Josh Allen got off to a hot start by completing 18 for 23 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns in addition to nine carries for 39 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. His 137.7 passer rating was a career-high in a season opener. The Bills rallied from a 17-3 second-quarter deficit to get the win as Buffalo’s defense held Arizona to 270 total yards.
Miami had a second-half comeback as well in Week 1. The Jaguars held a 17-7 halftime lead before Miami scored 13 unanswered points in the second half to pull away for the 20-17 win. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had a league-high 338 passing yards, the majority to wide receivers Tyreek Hill (130 yards) and Jaylen Waddle (109). Arguably the biggest story line of of the game happened before kickoff, though, as Hill was detained by police for speeding.
Buffalo won both games between these teams in 2023: 48-20 in Week 4 and 21-14 in Week 18. Here’s how you can watch the first AFC East matchup of the season.
Bills-Dolphins on Thursday Night Football will be streamed exclusively on Amazon Prime nationally. In the Buffalo and Miami markets, it will be broadcast on local television as well.
