PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Several new attractions are coming to Panama City Beach in the coming months, and the city is excited about the jobs that are coming along with them.
“There are tons of businesses that are coming to the area that we are excited to see. They’re gonna create a lot of jobs in our area. Tourism and hospitality are huge economic drivers for us,” said Sydney Clifton, Communications Manager for Visit Panama City Beach.
McGuire’s Irish Pub will be located on the Beach’s West End, Dolly Parton’s Pirates Voyage is heading to Pier Park, and TopGolf’s tenth location in Florida will be along Powell Adams Road. All three venues are currently in the latter stages of construction.
“It’s just great to see those bigger businesses because people already resonate with them and enjoy the activities that they provide or food, so it’s great to see them come in. People are genuinely excited to see it,” Clifton said.
NewsChannel 7 spoke with officials from all three attractions about their full-time hiring plans.
McGuire’s has hired 150 employees already and aims for 250 by the busy summer season.
Pirates Voyage expects over 300 full-time employees when it opens this spring.
TopGolf plans to employ nearly 300 workers for its daily operations.
“Having more jobs gives more opportunities for everyone in our area, as well as people moving in because they want a job in our area or to live in our area,” said Clifton.
The city is growing, and so is its reputation for fun-seekers.
“Panama City Beach is the ‘Real Fun Beach.” It’s starting to spread, and people are recognizing that outside of just our area,” Clifton said.
