Three Tennessee basketball players limited in practice before facing Virginia in Bahamas

Tennessee basketball is dealing with a handful of injuries and ailments before a pair of games in the Bahamas.

Guard Cam Carr did not practice Tuesday, guard Chaz Lanier was a limited participant and forward J.P. Estrella continues to deal with a lingering foot injury. Guard Darlinstone Dubar was a full participant in practice after missing the first four games due to a personal matter as UT had eight scholarship players fully practice.

No. 9 Tennessee (4-0) plays its first game of the Baha Mar Championship against Virginia (3-0) on Thursday (9:30 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network). UT faces either Baylor or St. John’s on Friday in its second game in the tournament in Nassau, the Bahamas.

Chaz Lanier limited in practice for Tennessee on Tuesday

Lanier had a migraine Tuesday, which held him out of practice early before he joined in. The North Florida transfer is averaging 13.8 points in 26 minutes per game.

The senior guard had 18 points in the season opener against Gardner Webb and 19 points at Louisville in UT’s second game. He is shooting 50% on 3-pointers.

Cam Carr dealing with apparent hand injury for Vols

Carr did not practice after he appeared to suffer a left hand injury with 7:10 to play against Austin Peay on Sunday.

The sophomore guard tumbled to the court when he was fouled by Govs guard LJ Thomas. He grabbed his left thumb and wrist as his teammates helped him up. The 6-foot-6 Carr hit one of the two free throws before checking out of the game. He did not return. Carr is averaging 4.8 points in 10.5 minutes per game.

J.P. Estrella remains day to day with foot injury

Estrella did not play against Austin Peay. The sophomore forward worked on the side during UT’s practice Tuesday at Pratt Pavilion.

The 6-foot-11, 241-pound Estrella had a career-high eight points against Montana on Nov. 13. He is averaging 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 10.3 minutes per game. He played through an ankle injury in the season opener against Gardner Webb.

Darlinstone Dubar is working way back from personal matter

Dubar has yet to play in the regular season while dealing with a personal matter. The senior guard has been slowly returning to action in practice and working toward playing.

Dubar played six minutes when Tennessee lost 66-62 on Oct. 27 to Indiana in a charity exhibition. He missed his only field-goal attempt and committed two fouls.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound guard averaged 17.8 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 39.9% on 3-pointers as a senior at Hofstra last season. Dubar is averaging 11.7 points and shooting 38.1% on 3-pointers in his career.
