More national golf competitions are coming to Whistling Straits.
The United States Golf Association announced on Tuesday that the links-style course in Kohler will host three upcoming events: the 2028 U.S. Amateur, the 2033 U.S. Junior Amateur and the 2037 U.S. Girls’ Junior.
“The USGA is excited to reignite our commitment with Kohler, and look forward to a long and fulfilling relationship,” USGA managing director of championships Mark Hill said in a statement. “Whistling Straits is renowned for its performance on an international stage, and we know it will challenge and thoroughly impress the world’s best amateur players.”
Whistling Straits memorably hosted the Ryder Cup in 2021. Three PGA Championships (2004, 2010 and 2015) have been held on the course, as well as the 2007 U.S. Senior Open.
Whistling Straits is owned and operated by Kohler Co. along with Blackwolf Run, which hosted the U.S. Women’s Open in 1998 and 2012.
The USGA is very familiar with Wisconsin’s top-notch golf courses, placing 17 events in the state over the years. In addition to the ones held at Whistling Straits, Erin Hills hosted the 2017 U.S. Open and the 2011 U.S. Junior, while SentryWorld held the 2023 U.S. Senior Open. Erin Hills will also host the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open.
SentryWorld has already been selected by the USGA to hold the 2026 U.S. Mid-Amateur, 2029 U.S. Junior Amateur, 2030 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur and 2034 U.S. Girls’ Junior.
