Theresa R. (Sokol) Popp, 76, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024, in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.
She was born March 28, 1948 in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Abramowicz) Sokol.
Theresa graduated from Toronto High School in 1966 and then received her degree from the College of Steubenville in 1970.
She formerly worked as a social worker for Jefferson County Job and Family Services. Theresa was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Grimes, brother, Michael Sokol, and niece, Jackie Grimes.
Theresa leaves behind her husband, Frank D. Popp, whom she married Sept. 15, 1973; son, Michael Popp, daughter, Elizabeth (Richard “Bubba”) Donnelly and two granddaughters, Maryn and Brynn Donnelly all of Toronto; brother, Joseph Sokol, sisters-in-law, Linda Sokol and Diane Sokol all of Toronto; brothers-in-law, Tom Grimes of Toronto and Joseph (Carol) Popp of Rayland, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
A burial for Theresa will be held at the convenience of the family in the Toronto Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Francis Church.
