KOLKATA: Ajinkya Rahane is going from strength to strength this season. He is leading Mumbai by example, scoring useful runs, and showing agility on the field too.
The 36-year-old, who last played a Test for India in July 2023, said that the fire in his belly has kept him going. “I am batting well now. Mushtaq Ali went very well. I scored in the earlier Ranji matches too. So all I can say is that I am happy with my batting,” Rahane said.
“Domestic cricket has given me everything and I still have that hunger inside me. I still have that love for the game,” he stated.
Although he expressed his respect for Test cricket, he is not looking too far ahead. “The England series (in June) is too far away. I don’t know what will happen in the future. My job is to play cricket with a good attitude. There’s still cricket left in me,” he added.
