Stefano Pilati’s elegant and luxurious style can now be yours—at an affordable price. The designer’s new collab with Zara drops today and is available to shop now.
If you’ve been searching for the perfect peacoat, tuxedo blazer, or slinky halter blouse to wear to holiday parties, this is the capsule you’ve been waiting for. The expansive collection covers both womenswear and menswear, in addition to hero accessories like circular croc-embossed handbags, sculptural jewelry, and sumptuous suede loafers. Modestly priced, the collection starts at just $18 and caps at $399. It is tailored for all your fall and winter dressing needs.
Pilati, best known for his eight-year tenure as Yves Saint Laurent’s creative director, brings his signature svelte style to the Zara collection. “The scope of Zara was to celebrate my style and work. … Still, I won’t design something I wouldn’t wear or see people wearing. It’s a variable that ethically influences my design and cooperates with my integrity as a designer and professional,” he told Harper’s Bazaar in a statement.
As usual with Pilati’s designs, the capsule is focused on sharp wardrobe pieces, outerwear, soft and feminine blouses and dresses, and striped button-up shirts with ruffle detailing. In the campaign for the Zara collection, shot by Steven Meisel, Pilati and Gisele Bündchen effortlessly exude the designer’s sensibility. “I am a symbolist infusing my creations with a language that wants to appeal, seduce, and ultimately send a message with a symbolic value detectable in the clothes. The interpretation of it is not my priority when I design. I am happy when someone makes my clothes theirs,” Pilati said.
At Paris Fashion Week, Pilati and Zara kicked off the launch with a party attended by a starry cast of creatives and image makers, including Challengers director Luca Guadagnino, Kate Moss, Iris Law, and Pat McGrath. Bazaar’s correspondent saw editors and stylists stocking up the next day; he left with nine pieces, which gives you a good idea of the appeal.
