The New NFL Kickoff Rule Explained in the Best Way Possible
We’ve been kicking around ideas on how best to explain the NFL’s new kickoff rule to our readers all offseason, but this explanation from Max Browne via the league’s Twitter account is about as perfect as it gets.
If you watch only one social media video today, make it this one. Carve out some time for the two minutes and forty-nine seconds it will take you to complete it and become a smarter football fan.
The new rule was taken from the XFL, and even though I saw it in action, I never fully understood it.
This will bring importance back to a play that has meant so much to the history of the Chicago Bears franchise, as no other team has a collection of returners that can stack up to those that have rocked the Navy and Orange.
We still may write something up at some point to break down some strategy possibilities, but with the Bears playing the Houston Texans this Thursday in the Hall of Fame Game, I had to share this with our readers.
