With the 2024 season done and dusted, who has now won the most ATP titles during their careers to date?
Upon the conclusion of another great year on the ATP Tour, fans are looking back on how their favorites got on in 2024.
Jannik Sinner won the Australian Open, and US Open this season, as he picked up a mouth-watering eight titles during the best year of his career.
On the other hand, Novak Djokovic won Olympic Gold but failed to add to his impressive haul of ATP titles.
Plenty of big champions now sit in the ATP top ten, but what would the rankings look like if they were based on who has won the most tour-level titles?
He couldn’t quite get over the line and hit the 100 mark in 2024, but Djokovic sits way out in front, following Nadal’s retirement.
Just four behind Roger Federer’s overall record of 103 titles, the Serb has incredibly won 99 ATP titles, which would see him ranked number one, by some distance.
Remarkably, the world number two would remain at number two thanks to the 23 titles he has won during his career to date.
The German picked up two more titles this year, both at the Masters 1000 level, as Alexander Zverev won the Italian Open, before taking home the Paris Masters later in the year.
Perhaps the biggest shock in these rankings is Marin Cilic, the current world number 180, who sits third with 21 ATP titles.
The Croat picked up his first title in three years at the Hangzhou Open in China this September, as the former Grand Slam winner added to his impressive tally.
Trailing just one behind Cilic with 20 titles is Daniil Medvedev who was unable to pick up a title on tour this year for the first time since 2017.
The five titles he picked up the year prior keep him in the top four for now, but with the chasing pack in red-hot form he may need to get back to winning ways sooner rather than later in the new year.
Sinner soared into the top ten of these rankings with the eight titles he picked up in 2024.
They weren’t ‘small’ titles either, with two Grand Slams, three Masters 1000’s, the ATP Finals, and two ATP 500 titles seeing him slot in at number five.
The first of four ATP stars level on 16 titles, Carlos Alcaraz leads the way thanks to his four Grand Slam successes.
The Spaniard added four more titles to his name in 2024 including two Major trophies, as Alcaraz won the French Open for the first time, before defending his Wimbledon crown.
A three-time Grand Slam champion, Stan Wawrinka slots in at number seven in the rankings despite last winning an ATP title in 2017.
The Swiss star is 39 years old and now sat outside the world’s top 150 looks unlikely to add to his 16 ATP titles.
Another ATP Tour veteran, Richard Gasquet is no longer ranked inside the top 100, but his exploits earlier in his career see him sit at number eight on this list.
The Frenchman has remarkably never won a title above the ATP 250 level, losing all five finals at ATP 500 and Masters 1000 level.
The lowest-ranked 16 title winner, Andrey Rublev, is perhaps unfairly punished due to his lack of Grand Slam success.
The Russian won two titles at the beginning of 2024, but struggled for form in the latter stages of the season, preventing him from leapfrogging the two veterans currently above him.
Barely scraping into the top ten, tied with several ATP stars on 12 titles is Casper Ruud, who is given the nod thanks to his three Major finals.
The Norwegian finally took home his first ATP 500 title in 2024, as Ruud won the Barcelona Open earlier this year.
Whilst career titles see the inclusion of the likes of Cilic, Wawrinka, and Gasquet, things would look slightly different if we just paid attention to what happened in 2024.
Sinner would still sit way out in front, but there are plenty of surprises that help fill out the rest of the top ten.
Rank | 2024 Titles won | Name | Best performance |
1 | 8 | Jannik Sinner | W – Australian Open, US Open |
2 | 4 | Carlos Alcaraz | W – French Open, Wimbledon |
3 | 3 | Tommy Paul | W – Queens (ATP 500) |
4 | 3 | Matteo Berrettini | W – Marrakesh, Gstaad, Kitzbuhel (ATP 250) |
5 | 2 | Alexander Zverev | W – Rome, Paris (Masters 1000) |
6 | 2 | Andrey Rublev | W – Madrid (Masters 1000) |
7 | 2 | Arthur Fils | W – Hamburg, Tokyo (ATP 500) |

9 | 2 | Ugo Humbert | W – Dubai (ATP 500) |
10 | 2 | Jack Draper | W – Vienna (ATP 500) |
Tommy Paul and Matteo Berrettini are the two biggest shocks of 2024, with the three titles that they picked up on the ATP Tour.
12 players won two titles this year, however, as the most impressive of those wins helped fill out the rest of the top ten.
Players will be hoping to rest up, and go again next year as they look to bring home several trophies in the new year.
The first time silverware will be up for grabs will be at the Hong Kong, and Brisbane Open, which both begin on December 30.
