Everything is going up in price these days it seems. As the world gets more and more expensive, everyone is seeking out the best ways to save every penny. When it comes to finding good, affordable grocery shopping stores, the Magic Valley has plenty to choose from, but which ones will save you the most money? Recently, money.usnews.com ranked the top 10 cheapest grocery stores in the United States, and three of them happen to have locations in the Magic Valley. According to the list, Costco would be the third cheapest in the Magic Valley, despite being ninth on the list. Over half of the customers that use Costco admitted to using it because they save money on bulk buys. If you are someone who hasn’t shopped at Costco cause of the membership, you may want to rethink it moving forward.
Coming in as the second cheapest grocery store in the Magic Valley is WinCo, which ranks third overall on the list. Of those who shop at WinCo, 77 percent said saving money and the value is why they choose to shop there. WinCo might have a little more pull for shoppers in the Gem State as well, since it originated in Boise and while a chain that has stores in ten states, it is also local as well.
If you want to shop at the cheapest and most affordable grocery store in the area, then Grocery Outlet is where you want to go, which ranks second on the list nationally. With stores in only eight states, the chain isn’t as big as others, but there is one located in Twin Falls, giving shoppers an affordable place to do their grocery shopping. When it comes to shoppers at Grocery Outlet, 85 percent do so because of the great value. Not only do they have great prices, but they also have the best jingle as well, which likely has been stuck in your head once or twice.
