Beating a top-10 opponent is one of the greatest challenges in tennis, though some players found themselves doing that regularly in 2024.
Here, we look at the eight players who sealed the most ATP top-10 victories in 2024.
One of four men to seal six top-10 wins in 2024, Ruud finished the year as the world No 6 – having been outside the top-10 at the beginning of the season.
The Norwegian compiled an impressive record against top-10 opponents throughout 2024, going 6-4 against such opposition.
Ruud notably beat then world No 1 Novak Djokovic in Monte Carlo and Carlos Alcaraz at the ATP Finals, also defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas, Hubert Hurkacz, Holger Rune, and Andrey Rublev.
Medvedev did not win a title in 2024 but still managed to finish the season as the world No 5, with notable results including a run to the final at the Australian Open.
The Russian played 15 matches against top-10 opposition this year and though his 6-9 record is not perfect, it is enough to place him on this countdown.
He beat world No 1 Jannik Sinner and Grigor Dimitrov at Wimbledon alongside victories over Hubert Hurkacz and Alexander Zverev in Melbourne, with further wins over Alex de Minaur and Rune.
One of the surprise stars of 2024, Australian Popyrin won an impressive six of his ten matches against top-10 opponents across the best season of his career.
The world No 24 stunned the tennis world with his run to the Canadian Open title in August, beating three top-10 players on his way to the title; Dimitrov, Hurkacz, and Rublev.
Popyrin also beat Rublev in Monte Carlo, while stunning Djokovic at the US Open and also recording a win over Medvedev.
2024 saw Dimitrov win his first title in seven years and reach a further three finals, with the world No 10 securing his highest year-end ranking since 2017.
The Bulgarian played 11 matches against top-10 opposition in 2024 and won six of those encounters, placing him joint fifth on this list.
Dimitrov beat three top-10 stars – Hurkacz, Alcaraz, and Zverev – on his way to the Miami Open final and defeated Rune to lift the title in Brisbane, picking up further wins over Hurkacz and also Rublev.

One of the most consistent players of the season, Zverev finished 2024 as the world No 2 after winning two Masters 1000 titles and reaching a second major final at Roland Garros.
The German played 15 matches against fellow top-10 players this year and picked up eight victories, the third-most he has ever won in an individual season.
Zverev most notably beat Alcaraz twice, at the Australian Open and the ATP Finals, while he also defeated Ruud at the year-end championships and Roland Garros.
He also defeated both Tsitsipas and Hurkacz at the United Cup, with further triumphs over Rublev and de Minaur across the season.
A standout season for Fritz saw the American end 2024 at a career-high of world No 4, alongside reaching his first Grand Slam final at the US Open.
The American played 21 matches against the top-10 and sealed 11 victories, a total that can only be topped by two players.
Fritz notably defeated Zverev four times, picking up wins over the German at Wimbledon, the US Open, the Laver Cup, and the ATP Finals.
He also beat de Minaur twice, alongside victories versus Medvedev, Hurkacz, Tsitsipas, Dimitrov, and Ruud.
Alcaraz won both the French Open and Wimbledon titles in 2024 and sealed a third straight year inside the top three of the year-end rankings – despite only being 21.
There were ups and downs in the Spaniard’s season but he had huge success against the rest of the top 10, winning 12 of 17 matches against the ATP elite.
Alcaraz notably beat Sinner in all three of their meetings, at Indian Wells, the French Open, and the China Open, while beating Medvedev three times and Zverev twice.
Furthermore, the world No 3 also secured wins over Djokovic, Tsitsipas, Fritz, and Rublev.
Sinner may have struggled against Alcaraz but he rarely struggled elsewhere in a landmark season for the Italian.
The world No 1 went 73-6 for the season, winning eight titles, two Grand Slam titles, rising to world No 1 – and securing a staggering 18-5 record against the ATP top 10.
Sinner’s most frequent opponent this year was Medvedev and recorded five wins over the Russian, while also recording multiple victories over Djokovic, Fritz, de Minaur, and Rublev.
He claimed further wins versus Rune, Dimitrov, Hurkacz, Zverev, and Ruud, with his haul of 18 wins only matched or beaten by six men in the Open Era.
