This week we revisit some familiar faces looking for similar results as to what was successful previously. We have a target-hog receiver scoring a touchdown, a revenge play, a Pro Bowl quarterback getting a number that’s too high (again), and pair of wide receivers with a lot on the line stepping out and stepping up.

There’s nothing like the feeling a player gets going up against the team that moved on from him. When that team is the Green Bay Packers and you’re a member of the hated Vikings, the revenge factor goes to 10. In his first meeting against the Packers, Jones had a season-high 22 carries and rushed for 93 yards. The Vikings will make a point to force-feed Jones, who has topped this number each of the last three games.
In the NFL, you can’t score a touchdown if you don’t touch the ball. Puka is on the Mount Rushmore of targets. Over the last seven games, Nacua has been targeted 75 times, catching 57 passes. With a playoff berth on the line, why wouldn’t you feed Nacua 11 times as is typically done? You have to like those odds at even money.
The Bengals are on playoff life support, but this number is very high. The Denver Broncos defense is solid against the pass, and the Bengals have a good running game. So, even if Burrow is near 200 at halftime, there are too many scenarios that call on him not topping this number for the third straight week.
The Lions have been the No. 1 seed in the NFC for a long time. To keep it, they need a win in their final two games. The most prolific target in the league on a weekly basis will get leaned on against a single-coverage defensive scheme. Best guess? Twelve targets. Seven catches. Those odds lean Over … even if they don’t need it.
This number is high. It’s high for a reason. Evans has topped 1,000 receiving yards every year of his career. He need 182 in two games to hit that mark. But, his recent history is the secret sauce. Evans has been on/off since coming back from injury with weekly point totals of 11.8, 25.8, 10.9, 36.9, and 11.9. He caught eight passes for 118 yards and a TD in his first meeting with these Carolina Panthers. With a legacy on the line, 100 yards is expected.
