CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The biggest week for grocery store shopping is here. If you have not finished shopping for your Thanksgiving dinner, you are not alone.
To cap off the perfect Thanksgiving dinner, you need the right ingredients from grocery stores. Experts said prices are lower this year but higher than pre-COVID times.
“Ah yes, we went shopping the other day and there was so many people,” shopper Brooke Marfield said. ”It was bumper-to-bumper of people through the store.”
Bigley Piggly Wiggly Store owner Jeff Joseph said they have seen more shoppers this week. He said people are buying more in bulk, and they are stocked up for the final Thanksgiving rush.
Joseph said, this week, the community is helping the store recover where they have fallen short earlier in the year.
“It really helps you catch up where you may have lagged behind in different points of the year — not only Thanksgiving, but the holidays very important to retail businesses,” Joseph said.
