Inside the SoFi Center with three of the 24 PGA Tour pros who will make up the six teams and be televised on ESPN on January 7, 2025.
Welcome to TGL play! The new golf league created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy gets underway tonight from its brand new interactive facility in Palm Beach Gardens.
The three-month inaugural season begins with New York Golf Club — featuring world No. 2 Xander Schauffele and Rickie Fowler — against The Bay Golf Club, led by a pair of the PGA Tour’s rising stars in Wyndham Clark and Ludvig Aberg. No, Tiger and Rory won’t be playing tonight, but their teams will get their turn soon.

Through Hole 3
The fourth hole is an impressive dogleg right. Fowler got New York onto the fairway following Shane Lowry’s shot into the rough stuff.
Bay Club benefitted from Ludvig Aberg’s nice approach, leaving Shane Lowry for a short putt and the hole.
The third hole was a par-3 measuring 188 yards. But it was far more daunting than it sounded for New York that ended the hole with four strokes.
That’s when Bay Club threw the hammer, which raises the value of the hole to two points. Bay Club gets the hole and the subsequent two points. The hammer switches sides but at a cost as New York trails, 3-0.
Matt Fitzpatrick had a chance to sink a putt to win the hole for New York but came up just short. Bay Club teased Fitzpatrick but relented and allowed him to pick up for a gimme, and the second hole was a tie.
Shane Lowry is first to tee off on this 377-yard, par 4 opening hole. We are off and walking here from Palm Beach Gardens. On this alternate shot “triples” session, Ludvig Aberg looked down over a nine-yard putt for birdie.
He sinks the shot and puts Bay up by one to start the festivities.
You may need a refresher or just an initial meeting of these clubs.
The Bay Golf Club is comprised of Ludvig Aberg, Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee, Shane Lowry. They will match irons with The New York Golf Club, which features Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, Cameron Young.
We are getting a WWE type of introduction for each golfer as the fans in attendance cheer them on. Scott Van Pelt interviewed a few of the players as the broadcast launched.
Ludvig Aberg promises, “a lot of cool features you’ll see tonight.”
New York Golf Club vs. The Bay Golf Club begins at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday, Jan. 7 from SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Tonight’s TGL match will air nationally on ESPN. Matt Barrie will have the play-by-play with Scott Van Pelt as the show’s host and Marty Smith reporting from the SoFi Center.
TGL stands for TMRW Golf League, a competitive league of interactive golf started by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Mike McCarley, CEO of TMRW Sports. The league is made of current PGA Tour members, including major champions and those in the top-10 world rankings.
Matches feature two teams of three golfers and include 15 holes. Players tee off from a mat into a giant simulator screen that incorporates real fairway, rough and sand surfaces to hit from. When the ball lands about 50 yards away from the pin, players will transition to the “Green Zone,” a 3,800-square-foot rotating green that can be adjusted for variety on each hole.
Match tickets start at $160 and can be bought through Ticketmaster, though tickets for the first few weeks are already sold out. They are also available on VividSeats.
All TGL matches this season will air on ESPN or ESPN2 and can be streamed on ESPN+. The championship is set for March 24-25. Here’s the January schedule:
