Join Averee Dovsek behind the scenes of a TGL golf match for an exclusive look at the excitement and unforgettable experience!
What is TGL and who is expected to be at the Tiger Woods-Rory McIlroy-Mike McCarley signature event?
Let’s say the elite in the world of golf are part of Tomorrow’s Golf League and quite possibly, those attending the Tuesday, Feb. 18, tournament in Florida could include the leader of the free world.
Here’s what we know about TGL, the “green to screen” digital-slash-real-life golf tournament, whether President Donald Trump will visit TGL and the Feb. 18, 2025, competition with Jupiter Links and New York Golf Club at Palm Beach State College.
As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, it was not known whether President Donald Trump, who frequently plays golf with Tiger Woods, would attend the Tomorrow’s Golf League golf match in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The site of the Feb. 18 TGL match is at the SoFi Center at Palm Beach State College, which is less than 20 miles from Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s private club and primary residence in Palm Beach, Florida.
If Trump does attend, it would be his third public appearance at a major sporting event in two weeks − on Feb. 9, 2025, Trump attended Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Feb. 16, 2025, he was at the 67th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. In both cases, Trump family members (sans Melania Trump, Tiffany Trump and Barron Trump) also attended.
TGL stands for Tomorrow’s Golf League, which is sometimes (mistakenly) referred to as The Golf League, Tomorrow Golf League or Tiger’s Golf League. Tomorrow’s Golf League was founded by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Mike McCarley. TGL combines traditional golf with simulated indoor golf, or the common phrase “green to screen.”
According to its site, the new golf league TGL combines “advanced technology with teams of top players from the PGA TOUR for two-hour weekly competitions in prime time starting in January 2025. Six TGL teams representing six different cities will go head-to-head in a season-long competition at SoFi Center, a first-of-its-kind venue built specifically for TGL on the campus of Palm Beach State College (in Florida).”
Tomorrow’s Golf League matches air on ESPN and ESPN+ in the U.S. with every shot live and all the players mic’d up, bringing unprecedented access to the competition for golf fans, TGL’s site states.
The ESPN broadcast team for Tomorrow’s Golf League tournaments are host Scott Van Pelt, play-by-play reporting by Matt Barrie and reporter Marty Smith.
The SoFi Center, which finished construction this past fall, is a nearly 250,000-square-foot facility on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Its simulator screen is 64 by 53 feet, and the rotating green sits on a turntable 41 yards wide. It seats a capacity of 1,500 fans.
Ticket prices for tonight’s TGL match were available for $184 (before fees) on StubHub as of Saturday.
