Texas Football: Which Longhorns advanced with Chiefs and Eagles to Super Bowl LIX?

Texas lost 28-14 to Ohio State at the Cotton Bowl and finished the 2024 season at 13-3. The Buckeyes will meet Notre Dame in the title game.
The Texas football team will have a trio of ties to Super Bowl LIX.
On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs secured their spots in the final game of the NFL’s 2024 season. After respectively beating Washington and Buffalo, the Eagles and Chiefs will meet in the New Orleans-hosted Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9.
Three former UT football players will participate in Super Bowl LIX. Charles Omenihu and Xavier Worthy play for Kansas City while Moro Ojomo is an Eagle.
A defensive end, Omenihu played at Texas from 2015-2018. Ojomo played on UT’s defensive line from 2018-2022. Worthy was a star receiver for the Longhorns from 2021-23.
How many Longhorns have won a Super Bowl ring?
According to Texas, 33 Longhorns have played on a Super Bowl-winning team. That includes Omenihu, who was injured when Kansas City won last year’s Super Bowl:
