Yesterday, Texas Family Fitness announced a merger with Planet Fitness, which will result in the closing of 4 North Texas locations. The closures were effective immediately, including the neighborhood location on Mockingbird Lane.
Memberships with the Lakewood location will be transferrable to any Planet Fitness locations, with billing continuing under the Planet Fitness brand.
According to an article on WFAA, Texas Family Fitness employees were not notified in advance, and were made aware of the news in an email on Monday.
