Harriet Dart will take to the court for the first time since the US Open, and will face Clara Tauson, not too far ahead of her in the rankings, in what could be a closely matched encounter.
Playing Styles & Prediction
There have only been a couple of standout runs for Dart this season, including the semi-final of Cluj-Napoca and the quarter-finals of Eastbourne, but her memorable win over the British No. 1 Katie Boulter at Wimbledon will be a confidence booster. However, the rest of her US hard court season proved to be pretty unremarkable.
Tauson has played one tournament since her own early exit from the US Open and actually trails Dart in key stats. The Brit will look to be aggressive in the return games and has proved to be clutch in key moments.
This one could well be tight and Dart can expect to be taken the distance.
Prediction: Dart in three sets.
