Today is the day that the 2024 tennis season comes to an end and in some style as Italy and the Netherlands will battle it out in Malaga for the Davis Cup title.

19:35 CET – Italy have done it! Jannik Sinner (23) has won his nation their second Davis Cup in two years with a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Tallon Griekspoor (28), a week after they also won the Billie Jean King Cup on the women’s side of the game. What an era this is for Italian tennis!

18:52 CET – Italy are now just one set away from retaining their Davis Cup crown, after world No.1 Jannik Sinner (23) edged a really tight set 7-6(2) against Tallon Griekspoor (28). Can the Dutch somehow turn this around?

17:55 CET – The final top-level singles match of the men’s tennis season is about to get underway, and Jannik Sinner (23) is the heavy favourite for it not only because he’s the best player in the world, but also because he has an excellent record against Tallon Griekspoor (28).

That being said, the Dutchman has taken a set from the Italian in their last two matches.
