SAVANNAH, Ga. – The St. John Fisher men’s golf team placed 14th at the Port City Classic at the Savannah Country Club, their first outing of the spring season.
The Cardinals had their best day on Tuesday – the second day of the event – as they shot a 310 as a team. They carded a 315 and a 317 in the first two rounds respectively on Monday.
Graduate senior Nick Tellone finished tied for 12th in a field that included well more than 90 golfers. Tellone, who was tied for 17th after the first day, shot a 73 to move up five spots on the leaderboard on Tuesday.
Freshman Nick Years, who finished tied for 26th place, also turned in his best round of the two-day event on Tuesday, carding a 75.
The Cardinals will compete in the McDaniel College Invite at the Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, Pa., March 29-30.
