TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 13 TCU women’s golf team is in position to challenge for its fourth team title in 2024-25.
The Horned Frogs shot a five-under 283 in the first round of play at the MountainView Collegiate on Sunday at The Preserve Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.
TCU sits a solo second and will start one stroke back of No. 34 Oklahoma for the lead on Monday.
The Horned Frogs, just five days removed from a wire-to-wire victory at the Chevron Collegiate, bagged 11 birdies over their first nine holes. TCU played even-par golf on the back nine. The Frogs were one of two squads in the 14-team field to shoot par-or-better following the turn.
TCU has now finished under par in five consecutive rounds and six of its last seven with Sunday’s showing.
