Taylor Swift wanted to support “the guy on the Chiefs” in his moment of need.
Swift reportedly flew to Travis Kelce’s side last after the Chiefs tight end was caught looking miserable on the sideline during Kansas City’s “Sunday Night Football” battle with the Falcons in Week 3.
According to the Daily Mail, Swift made an unexpected trip to Kelce’s Kansas City mansion last week after he had just four catches for 30 yards in the 22-17 win over the Falcons.
Swift made the trip from New York to Kansas City on Monday morning.
Kelce has come under intense scrutiny for his play this season where he’s had just 15 catches for 158 yards and is still waiting for his first touchdown of the season.
The NFL star had his best performance of the season last weekend in the Chiefs’ win over the Chargers, where he had seven catches for 89 yards while breaking a franchise record for most receptions, previously held by Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez.
The strong effort on Sunday has seemed to renew the confidence of the tight end in his game.
“He felt good about it,” a source told Page Six on Thursday. “That’s the Travis that he always is and was.”
Page Six also reported that the source acknowledged that Kelce had a slow start to the year but now expects the footballer to be back in his old ways.
“He had a rough start to the season,” the source told Page Six, “but he’s back in his groove. He’s going to kill it.”
While Swift seemed to rush to her NFL beau’s side after the rough game, she has been noticeably absent from the stands in recent weeks.
While the pop icon was on hand to watch the Chiefs’ first two games of the season, she wasn’t at games in Atlanta or Los Angeles.
