The Chiefs’ refs drama just won’t quit. Every day, someone new jumps on the ship with their opinion on the whole drama. The team has just won their third straight AFC Championship. And all people keep telling them is, “The refs are helping you guys win.” Everywhere the Chiefs players go, whether it’s in an interview or on a podcast, fans and media keep asking them the same question again and again. So, in today’s episode of ‘Are the Refs Favoring the Chiefs?’, an actor and comedian has voiced his opinion. And guess what? This time, Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s sweetheart, is the target.
Swift has been in the NFL world’s spotlight ever since she started dating Travis Kelce. The New Romantics songstress gets trolled a lot just for showing up in the stands. People often say that the refs are helping the Chiefs and, in return, are getting Swift’s tour tickets for their families and kids. And now, Old Dads actor Bill Burr has somewhat the same opinion. Last week, Burr made an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, and the 56-year-old didn’t mince his words. “Where’s the money? They got all the stars. They got Taylor Swift. It’s a business,” said Bill.

The 56-year-old didn’t just stop there. He called the league an ‘entertainment’ league entirely fixated on making money. “It’s a show, okay? They’re all shows at this point… There’s always been point-shaving, mob gambling. There’s always been. It’s always been in all sports. It’s always been like that. But I think we’re kind of going into like an unprecedented time of that in all sports.”
Woah! He’s got quite a take on the league. But honestly, this same opinion is everywhere this season. From calling out Roger Goodell to questioning the refs, mostly non-Chiefs fans believes the league is helping Kansas City secure the three-peat. And if that wasn’t enough, some even have this wild theory about Swift and Kelce’s relationship, claiming it’s entirely a business move. There’s no denying that Taylor’s involvement has brought the league more viewers. But questioning a relationship like that? Umm, not a good thing to do.
Now, after Swift has been dragged into the refs drama, the NFL has fined Travis Kelce.
Girlfriend Taylor Swift caught up in the refs controversy drama, and Travis Kelce landed on the NFL’s fine list. It’s been a wild week for the Chiefs’ power couple. The NFL fined the Chiefs’ TE $11.3K for unsportsmanlike conduct (taunting) during the AFC Championship game against the Bills.
The drama unfolded after a heated moment between Kelce and Bills safety Damar Hamlin. Things escalated fast when Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips straight-up head-butted Kelce in the helmet. Yes, you read that right -head-butt. The officials flagged Phillips for unnecessary roughness—no surprise there. But here’s the part that makes fans call out refs -Kelce didn’t get a single penalty during the game.
This is the second time this season the Chiefs’ TE has been fined. Before this, he was fined $14K in Week 17 against the Steelers for the same thing. It looks like Travis Kelce loves to talk -or maybe he just loves writing checks to the league. Although these fines are nothing compared to his paychecks. But the refs letting the Chiefs walk away without a penalty convinces people to believe in all the wild theories out there. The Chiefs players keep denying these allegations, saying they are not bothered by the outside noise. But people out there don’t want to stop. And they won’t until the Super Bowl game.
