AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Grant Young, a star senior for the Tascosa Rebels golf team, signed to play with Collin College on Thursday.
As a junior, Grant played an integral role in leading the Rebels to their first 5-A state championship appearance in 60 years.
There are 11 total campuses for Collin College, and Young is headed to the Plano location.
He believes that being in Plano, surrounded by several high-caliber universities, that Collin can help get him where he wants to go.
“It’s right in the middle of a bunch of D1 schools so hopefully I can transfer over after a couple years,” Young said. “They’ve changed a lot of rules but hopefully I can go play at TCU, SMU, or North Texas after playing two years or one year at Collin College.”
Young is no stranger to playing in different areas across the lone-star state and even throughout the country, and he is looking forward to perfecting the courses out in Plano.
“I don’t think there’s a place in Texas I haven’t played golf at,” Young said. “You know, there’s a whole lot of different things that change but it’s really fun to experience the different courses and I just hope to keep doing it when I go to college.”
