ABILENE, Texas – Tarleton State’s second event of the spring was cut short as round three was canceled at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday morning as the Texans were eight holes in.
With the cancelation of round three, the Purple and White notch a second-place finish, their sixth top-two finish of the year dating back to the fall when the Texans began their record-breaking year setting the program low team score and Louise Depadt tied the program low for 54 holes.
Tarleton State clinched their second-place finish as they shot +33 (593, 295-298). This marks the first time the Texans have played just 36 holes during their 2024-25 campaign.
Darianys Guzman led the squad from the Ville as she shot +3 (143, 72-71) taking second-place overall. Louise Depadt didn’t trail far behind as she finished tied for fourth shooting. +5 (145, 70-75).
The final three Texans all notched top-30 finishes with Lou Deltombe turning in a top-20 finish. Deltombe ended things tied for 18th turning in a score of +12 (152, 76-76). Mathilde Brogens and Elle Fox tied for 27th as they both shot +15. Brogens shot +15 (155, 77-78) while Fox shot +15 (155, 79-76).
The Texans now have the rest of the week off before they head to Houston Christian for the Riverbend Intercollegiate Monday-Tuesday. The tournament will take place at the Riverbend Country Club in Sugarland, Texas.
