A fire at a popular Arlington sports pub Thursday is now under investigation.
The Arlington County Fire Department is calling the incident “suspicious,” as it looks into the cause.
According to the department, Arlington County firefighters responded early Thursday morning to a structure fire at the Crystal City Pub on South 23rd Street.
Crews arrived at the establishment around 5:30 a.m. to find items burning in an enclosed patio.
The fire, contained by the building’s sprinkler system, was quickly extinguished by firefighters and did not spread to the main structure, the department reported.
However, during the investigation, the Office of the Fire Marshal uncovered additional fire damage to nearby businesses. Authorities believe these fires are also suspicious in nature.
The Fire Marshal’s Office has launched a full investigation and is seeking help from the public. Anyone with information is urged to contact Lieutenant Wandekha Kanthula.
No injuries were reported in connection with the fires.
