Super Screener is of course most known for finding key plays in the top stakes races coast to coast week to week, but with a dearth of added-money events over the weekend, Mike Shutty looked to other options. He found something to get excited about Saturday at Del Mar.
Race 7 is a maiden special weight race at five furlongs on the turf. It features several runners making their first lifetime start, including Pam and Tina.
This Phil D’Amato trainee caught not only Shutty’s eye but also earned five stars (out of five) from Horse Racing Nation’s First-Time Power Ratings.
“The key considerations in this race start with the breeding,” Shutty writes. “You want to look for fillies in which the Brisnet average winning distance for their sire is less than 6 1/2 furlongs. Next, you want a filly whose dam has produced at least one turf winner. The dam of Pam and Tina has produced five turf winners, which is best in this field by far.”
It all adds up to Pam and Tina being one of three Top Win Contenders identified by Super Screener and a Top Value play along with Pura Vida Princesa, who does draw in with the early scratch of Aleramo.
Each race in Super Screener includes the above designations plus Most Likely Board Hitters, Top Longshots, detailed analysis, wagering strategy and betting suggestions.
