Fresh off a $35.64 score in the Locust Grove Stakes last week at Churchill Downs, Super Screener is back with a bevy of premium analysis for this week’s stakes action led by a pair of $1 million Grade 1 races on Saturday at Parx.
And as big and prestigious as those Grade 1 races are, one of the better value opportunities on the day is in race 10, the Grade 3 Turf Monster Stakes that kicks off the all-stakes Pick 5 with mandatory payout on a $263,897.40 carryover.
This weekend’s Super Screener is the first of six available in the build up toward the Breeders’ Cup on Nov. 1-2 at Del Mar. You can get all six of those Screeners plus the Breeders’ Cup edition for just $97. That’s right! Seven weeks of Screener plus Power Picks and Horses to Single reports daily through Nov. 2 for just $97.
As for this week, Super Screener creator Mike Shutty thinks there is a value opportunity in the Turf Monster to kick off that Pick 5 that includes both the Cotillion and Pennsylvania Derby.
“This is one of the better wagering opportunities on the card with 10 sprinters ready to battle it out in this five-furlong stakes affair that is often used as a prep for the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint,” Shutty says. “Keys to this race include a stellar record going five to 5 1/2 furlongs on turf with an emphasis on five-furlong efforts.”
Each race in Super Screener includes Top Win Contender, Most Reliable Board Hitter, Top Value and Top Longshot designations as well as comprehensive analysis and wagering strategy.
For the Turf Monster, Talented Man checked the Top Win Contender and Top Longshot boxes at 12-1 morning line while Alogon is a Top Win Contender, Most Reliable Board Hitter and Top Value at 5-1 morning line.
“His longer odds are sttributed to the fact that he is being evaluated off his two recent dirt races,” Shutty notes about Talented Man. “Being back on turf, we are going to see improvement. How much is difficult to calculate, but getting back to a pressing style here is ideal for this turf course, on which he is 2-for-2.”
As for Alogon, Shutty notes his pace advantage and feels he is best used in exotics because of the likely value on morning line longshot Talented Man.
