Albany, N.Y. — The Suburban Council and its participating girl’s golf schools made history Tuesday morning at the Fairways of Halfmoon Golf Course. For the first time ever, nine schools, comprised of 33 girls in total, competed in an 18-hole tournament in which it has always been just a nine hole round.
There was lots of competitive play all over the course from these various teams. With sectionals on the horizon in just over a month, here’s how the team and individual leaderboards stacked up at this historic tournament:
– The individual low score winner was Sienna Wheeler of Colonie who shot a 71. Wheeler claimed a nine stroke win over Emily Shim of Niskayuna.
– As for the full teams, Shaker came away with the best composite score from their four golfers at a 354. The Blue Bison girl’s golf team beat out Bethlehem for first by six strokes.
Congrats again to all of these girls on making Suburban Council Girl’s Golf history.
