On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 248 points, or 0.55%, to 44,766, the S&P 500 declined 11 points, or 0.19%, to 6,075, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 34 points, or 0.17%, to 19,701.
Stock futures dipped on Friday morning as investors readied themselves for publication of the Bureau of Labor Statistics November jobs report, which is expected to show a rebound in employment from last month when numbers were impacted by strikes and hurricanes.
The S&P 500 index closed lower on Thursday, in what appeared to mark the end of a minor rally that has seen the stock index make gains in 11 of the past 12 trading sessions. The Magnificent Seven mega cap stocks, nonetheless, hit new record highs in Thursday’s session.
