Four Pittsburgh Steelers rookies made their NFL debuts last week during the season opener. Another, Troy Fautanu, will this Sunday in Week 2.

Will Roman Wilson be joining his fellow members of the Steelers 2024 draft class on the field in Denver?

Wilson, a receiver drafted in the third round, was listed as questionable to face the Broncos on the status report released Friday. Wilson was regarded as a limited practice participant Friday, an indication he might not yet be given the green light to make his NFL game debut.

Coach Mike Tomlin on Friday referenced Wilson tangentially — and not necessarily positively in regards to his availability Sunday — when discussing Fautanu’s status.

“(Fautanu)’s injury is different than Roman’s (because) Roman got hurt in the very early portions of (training camp),” Tomlin said.

Wilson suffered his ankle injury during the July 30 practice at Saint Vincent, did not appear in any preseason games and has made it through only one full practice (Thursday) in the 6 ½ weeks since the injury.

Queen OK

Patrick Queen’s absence from practice Thursday was an isolated incident. The reigning second-team All-Pro linebacker practiced fully Friday and will play against the Broncos.

Queen played every defensive snap in his Steelers debut, last week’s victory at the Atlanta Falcons.

Rush, Ogunjobi in

Reserve defensive back Darius Rush (concussion) and veteran defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi (knee) were cleared to play Sunday after practicing fully Friday.

Starting quarterback Russell Wilson was given a questionable designation after a full week of mere limited practice participation, starting left tackle Dan Moore Jr. (ankle) was given an official green light to face the Broncos and starting left guard Isaac Seumalo officially will miss a second consecutive game because of a pectoral injury.
