The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to avenge their Week 12 loss to the Browns by evening the season series and get to 10-3 on the season to keep a firm two-game lead over the Ravens in the AFC North. Here is how our staff sees the game playing out.
“Cleveland hasn’t won a regular season game in Pittsburgh since 2003 and I don’t see that changing this year. After the Steelers’ Week 12 loss, there’s even more of a reason for the black and gold to be motivated to win this one. The offense is clicking at the right time and the defense should be able to capitalize on Jameis Winston mistakes. A full week of rest. No snow. Acrisure Stadium. Steelers win 27-17.”- Rylan Bickley
The last time these two teams met, it was a short week game played in a blizzard. Execution on the field was sloppy. Russell Wilson held onto the ball too long and bailed early on pockets. The Steelers looked like a team that only had 3 days to rest and prep. This time around, they’ll have had a normal week and there is a feeling that this team has found their identity on offense. The team chemistry is apparent in scenes from Hard Knocks. The Steelers feel like a team that is getting hot, and healthy, at the right time. And with the 10-day stretch of Eagles, Chiefs, Ravens starting next week, they absolutely need this win. Steelers win 27-23.- Ryan Parish
The Browns’ season is essentially over. They won’t be willing to play a 60 minute game after their loss on Monday night. Fatigue and apathy will emerge in the trenches during the second half. Pittsburgh will dominate the line of scrimmage and the time of possession. Winston will face pressure and make mistakes. Steelers 23-Browns 13.- Kyle Chrise
For the second time in three weeks you can throw the records out the window. AFC North ball is always competitive, and the Browns have taken a gargantuan leap with Jameis Winston at the helm. Cleveland scored 31 points on the road against a really good Broncos defense this past Monday. I don’t buy into the “revenge factor” as much as some – the Steelers enter each contest with motivation. I think what flips the script is the fact that Pittsburgh will be at home, with a rowdy crowd playing a factor. I’d anticipate Russell Wilson continues his great play, as the Browns defense gave up 41 to the Broncos, and have really struggled in the backend. Pat Freiermuth catches another TD and Jaylen Warren gets into the endzone for just the second time this season. Closer than Steelers fans will like it: Pittsburgh 26 Cleveland 17.- Mike Nicastro
The recency of the last bout between the Steelers and Browns paired with the media circus that’s been played out between the two sides (T.J. Watt vs. Myles Garrett, George Pickens vs. Greg Newsome II) tells me that this is going to be an intense one — even beyond the scope of the normal intensity of AFC North football. I have to imagine this has been an intense week of prep, and the Steelers (Pickens aside) are as healthy as they’ve been since the start of training camp. I think the Steelers handle business at home: 28-14… with plenty of penalties in between.- Kate Magdziuk
The Browns haven’t won a regular season game in Pittsburgh since 2003, and there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell the Steelers get swept by the Browns. This isn’t a short week coming off a game against the Ravens. The Steelers have had a full week to rest, get as healthy as they’ve been all year, and play at full strength. Steeler 27, Browns 13.- Jarrett Bailey
