With the NFL scouting combine all wrapped up, we are less than two months to the 2025 NFL draft. The Pittsburgh Steelers were out in full force at the combine and they got to see some impressive athletes put on a show. This means it is time for us to update our seven-round mock draft with an eye on those prospects who performed well at the combine. The name of the game this time around is speed and power on both sides of the football.
We were already on board with Matthew Golden as the Steelers’ first-round pick but once he ran that 4.29-second 40-yard dash, we are officially the conductor on this bandwagon.
We follow up picking the most athletic wide receiver in the draft with the most athletic cornerback in round two. Porter’s testing was almost off the charts and really bumped his draft stock.
You might think we went off script here from our athleticism theme but you would be wrong. Peagues is a 310-pound powerhouse at defensive tackle but is athletic enough to play a hybrid fullback/tight end role as well. He scored seven touchdowns as a fullback in 2024.
Howard did himself no favors with his combine throwing session but his film is what matters. Him falling to the fourth is a bargain given his size, athletic ability and arm strength.
Having already drafted he fastest wide receiver and cornerback, they make it a hat trick with the fastest running back in Tuten. Tuten’s film backs up his speed and his vision and agility are excellent.
After a strong combine, I went back and watched some Mickens and his range and versatility really stood out. His NFL bloodline helps as well.
Pierce looks like the way you would build a strong-side, run blocking offensive tackle in a lab. He’s raw and needs a lot of coaching but the tools you can’t teach are there.
The Steelers can afford to draft a second wide receiver and we love the tools McCoy brings. He’s got great size and YAC ability as well as exceptional intelligence and play strength.
