Star jockey Jamie Kah has been hit with a 10-meeting ban due to careless riding on Derby Day at Flemington, but is free to contest the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday.
Stewards penalised Kah for interference during the TAB Vanity, the second race of the day, ruling her out of both Oaks Day and Champions Stakes Day.
Kah secured two wins on what was a drama-filled day for the 28-year-old, taking out the 1400m Damien Oliver race and the 2500m Victoria Derby.

She overflowed with emotion after winning the Damien Oliver on Another Wil, owned by the legendary Colin McKenna who died last month.
Kah’s win in the Victoria Derby, in which she charged to victory on Goldrush Guru, came just an hour after a gruesome incident that left her with a bloodied and possibly broken nose.
Hurry Curry whacked her in the nose as she was getting ready to race the Wakeful Stakes, resulting in a scratching.
“I couldn’t stop him [Goldrush Guru], he wanted to do another lap,” Kah told Nine’s Billy Slater after winning the Victoria Derby.
“… I think he’s got all the right attributes [to contest a Melbourne Cup]. He was very keen early, and then he just settled once he got cover and fell asleep, so the 3200m wouldn’t bother him so I’ll be pushing them to push forward to that next year.”
Andrew Gluyas, the trainer of Goldrush Guru, was beside himself.

“I’m speechless, overwhelmed, proud, satisfied,” Gluyas said. “Great moment.”
He admitted he was “a little concerned” for Kah following the injury.
“She’s taken a blow to the nose and it was just really troubling her, even in that ride.
“It was probably broken, she [Kah] said.
“A lot of courage there.”
