St. Bonaventure basketball fans will have more opportunities to watch the Bonnies via television and streaming this season thanks to a new programming agreement.
The YES Network will broadcast nine Bonnies basketball games this season with a mix of both men’s and women’s contests, St. Bonaventure Athletics announced Thursday.
The YES Network also carries New York Yankees and Brooklyn Nets games. In addition to appearing on YES, the nine Bonnies games will be streamed on The Gotham Sports App, a partnership between YES and MSG Networks that launched Wednesday.
“This is such an important partnership for our institution and our Athletic Department,” Bob Beretta, St. Bonaventure Vice President and Director of Athletics, said in a release. “We are thrilled to showcase Bona Basketball on the nation’s top regional sports network. To be connected with the New York Yankees, a premier global brand, is something we’re very excited about.”
YES and The Gotham Sports App will carry five Bonnies men’s basketball games.
The slate begins Nov. 16 as the Bonnies host Le Moyne at the Reilly Center. Bona’s Western New York rivalry game against Buffalo will air on YES and The Gotham Sports App on Dec. 7.
YES and The Gotham Sports App will air three Atlantic 10 games with home matchups against La Salle on Jan. 11, Richmond Jan. 15 and Dayton Jan. 28.
“This nine-game package will provide our university, Athletic Department and men’s and women’s basketball programs with increased exposure not only in the critical New York metropolitan television market, but also nationally,” Beretta said. “This agreement ranks as another important step in our strategy to help grow the St. Bonaventure brand beyond Western New York.”
The Bonnies open the season with an exhibition against Division III Alfred University Oct. 30 on ESPN+, which will carry several other non-conference games. All Bonnies basketball games broadcast on YES will also still stream through ESPN+ for fans with a subscription to that service.
