Sports world mourns as ESPN’s ‘Around the Horn’ to air final show May 23
We knew it was coming. We’ve known for a while, but we kept pushing it to the back of our minds, the area that we keep tucked away until further notice, but now the bell tolls for ESPN’s “Around the Horn.” After more than two decades, the propulsion of Max Kellerman’s career, and an astounding number of wins by Woody Paige, the official date for the final episode of the long-running sports talk show is officially set for May 23.
“‘Around the Horn’has had a remarkable run of more than two decades. That kind of longevity in media is incredibly rare, and we look forward to celebrating the show’s many accomplishments before the final sign-off in May,” said David Roberts, ESPN’s executive vice president and executive editor of sports news and entertainment in a statement.
The show has had numerous big-time sports personalities on throughout its run. Some notable names include Mina Kimes, Adam Schefter, Jon “Stugotz” Weiner, Jemele Hill, Diana Russini, and many more. This move is just the latest in ESPN’s preparation for the launch of their upcoming direct-to-consumer service. Already, the company has made some aggressive decisions, including cutting their TV deal with MLB following the 2025 season.
