Miners Red hockey cruises against Bingham Wednesday night
The Miners Red hockey squad cruised to a 10-0 win over Bingham Wednesday night at home. Park City opened up a 3-0 lead in the first period, scoring another four goals in the second and three in the third. William Bock, Vincent Billanti, Cooper Ford and Hunter Hutchinson starred in the blowout win, each scoring two goals. Harries Lloyd and Cody Wheelwright scored the Miners Red’s additional two goals, and Tommy Jacobson had a had trick of assists. Park City moves to 9-0, with Herriman up next on Wednesday at home. The Herriman game will begin at 6:30 p.m., at the Park City Ice Arena.
10 Miners fall athletes earn all-state academic honors
10 Miners fall athletes were named to the academic all-state list, including Ella Enrich, Lucy Taylor, Madeline McHenry, Toryn Lewis, Chase Noteware, Greta Bretts, Jonna Spencer, Madeline Reddy, Piper Lister and Sutton Hull. The girls soccer team totaled five of these athletes, the girls cross country team, three, and the girls volleyball and tennis teams, one each. The Park City football team is the only fall team still competing, with their playoff quarterfinal game scheduled for Friday night in Spanish Fork. The winter sports seasons will kick off soon and feature the boys and girls swimming, basketball and wrestling teams.
Miners White hockey falls Monday night to South County
The Miners White hockey squad fell 2-1 to South County Monday night on the road. Park City fell behind 1-0 in the first period, equalizing in the second before giving up the game-winner in the third. Jayden Jacobs scored the Miners White’s only goal midway through the second period, with the assist from Wyatt Nellis. The loss is Park City’s first of the season, dropping them to 7-1. The Miners Red are ranked fourth in the state, with Bingham up next on Wednesday on the road. The Bingham game will start at 8:45 p.m. at the County Ice Center in Murray.
Woodward hosting Mega Ramp Movie Night Thursday
Woodward Park City will host their Mega Ramp Movie Night Thursday at their park. From 5-8 p.m. there will be a mega ramp session, trampoline clinics and the premiere of “Proof” for attendees. Tom Wallich, a freeski X Games gold medalist and film producer, will host the evening. The activities are tailored towards avid freeskiers and also include music from a DJ.
